The OZON Raw team presents a new type of event, giving young people interested in pursuing careers in fashion and photography a great chance to showcase their talent, participating in all stages of production for three fashion editorials.

FASHION LIVE is an all-day workshop that will take place on Saturday, February 4th, at Hub Events. The participants will be working in teams according to their field of interest (production, hair & make-up, styling, art direction, photography) and will be able to select clothes from brands such as Wrangler, Lee, Vans and Adidas Originals.

Registering for the workshops is now closed, but all the editorials produced by the participants will be presented at the fashion live party that will take place at 21:00.

Clinique Fresh Face of the Year

Last month, Clinique Greece launched Fresh Face of the Year, a facebook contest in search for the girl who will be the brand's face for 2012, having professional photoshoots, appearing in magazines and winning a year's supply of 3-Step.

While that first part of the contest is now over and everyone's waiting anxiously for the results, I just wanted to let you know that you can still play at the Fresh Face of the Year facebook app for a chance to be one of the 200 lucky girls who will win a Clinique 3-Step complete trial system.

Levi's Curve ID

Starting the new year with a new pair of jeans!

Those of you having trouble locating the perfect pair of skinny jeans to suit your specific body shape might be interested in the concept of Levi's Curve ID.

Their novelty is that each fit (skinny, straight or bootcut) and wash (dark, indigo, worn, e.t.c.) comes in three different types, according to your hip-to-waist ratio:

Bold Curve for those with booty and tiny waist
Demi Curve for those with moderate proportions
Slight Curve for the more boyish figures

And here are my own Demi Curve in dark wash and skinny fit, courtesy of Levi's Greece:

Amazing fit (I got fitted by a professional inside the store to determine my type and size with accuracy) great colour, really soft denim and skinny enough to tuck into boots without any unnecessary bulk.

I see my feud with tight jeans coming to an end.

Vladimir Karaleev "RE-FORMATION" SS2012

Berlin-based fashion designer Vladimir Karaleev showed his SS2012 collection RE-FORMATION at the 4FASHIONSHAKE IV by OZON that took place on Wednesday, Novenber 23rd at Pallas Theatre.

Athens String Quartet opened the show.

A while after, a semi-diaphanous fabric screen came down on the stage and divided it in half.
From being the main attraction, their performance bacame the perfect acoustic and visual background for Vladimir Karaleev's work.

As you will see yourselves, I had a hard time editing down the outfits, as I really liked them all and I considered them a solid body of work, so prepare for some serious scrolling.

It was a great honour that OZON had Vadimir Karaleev come all the way from Berlin to organise his show and greet the audience.

Being the last show of the night, the closing moment involved everyone who participated - musicians, performers and models - sharing the stage for one last time.

Congrats everyone at OZON for yet another great event.

Digitaria's presentation at 4FASHIONSHAKE IV wasn't just a fashion show, it was more like a music and art performance.

Etten composed the original music and performed live on stage along with Niadoka.

The dark and twisted (pun intended) concept was conceived by artist H.O.P.E. who has worked before both with Etten on her music video for 20.45 sling directed by Babis Makridis and also Eleftheria Arapoglou of Digitaria, designing a series of t-shirts titled "The birth of n.7" that came out on December 2010.

Elena got me these two as a present a while ago.

Although I'm not much of a make-up person, these past couple of years I have come to the conclusion that a dash of red lipstick instantly makes you look more polished and put-together, whatever the outfit.

Since then, I've been carrying a red lipstick in my bag and it has saved me many times, when I had to rush somewhere right after work.

This one is Russian Red, but I've also caved in and bough myself Ruby Woo as well.

Have you tried them? Which one would you recommend?

Levi's Go Forth

A few weeks ago we were invited by Levi's to learn all about their new brand concepts, the Go Forth campaign, and of course to see their SS2012 collection.

The clothes were inspired by a sea-side ranch, keeping their western roots and at the same time introducing a more summery feel:

I'm keeping all the extra info I learned about the Waterless iniative and Curve ID women's jeans for future especially dedicated posts as I have weay too much material to fit this one.

At the Badila Headquarters

Badila is a Greek, family-owned brand that has layed low for quite a while now, keeping out of magazines and traditional coverage. Still, I believe their low profile is just part of the brand's charm.

A visit at their headquarters and commercial showroom some weeks ago, was all I needed to start believing in the Greek fashion industry again.

And like my friend Eva said, their clothes are the only Greek-designed and Greek-made clothes that many others try to copy, yet no-one can.

Plus, the showroom is an interior design triumph inside a plain old athenian apartment, designed and realised by the founder of the company himself.

A true fashion architect.

As for me, over the years I have ammassed several well-picked, loved and sometimes worn-to-death Badila items, some dating back to 1998.

This cropped black-and-white top is my latest acquisition.

Stelios Koudounaris "Entropia" SS2012

Stelios Koudounaris showed his Spring/Summer 2012 collection titled Entropia last Saturday, at the 10th Athens Xclusive Designers Week.

I could just moderately say that it was totally my cup of tea or just let go and scream that I loved it!

The clothes were inspired-yet-wearable and the whole look of his models walking down the catwalk made me just wish for summer to come earlier.

And on top, Stelios is definitely one of those designers that can do equally well designing for men, as well as women.

His menswear was simple and beautiful.

Conquistador SS2011 at AXDW

Tassos Sofroniou is a Greek designer, stylist, photographer, TV persona and one-man-show behind menswear label Conquistador. Although the collection has been up and running for a while now, this was its first ever runway show.

I always have great respect towards the great craftmanship of his designs (here it was mostly about motorcycle-inspired pants) yet I feel there could have been less of that nude-beige fabric. I mean, if it can't flatter the Adonis lookalike model, that blond topless one had the whole audience gasping everytime he set foot on the runway, then it won't be of any good to anybody else. My favourite piece however, were the leather shorts (not pictured here as we didn't have a good place to shoot proper pics).

I'll be there too, most probably along with my trusty Husqvarna sewing machine, to make beautiful things out of other people's cast-offs. It's called upcycling my friends, and it's cool!

It was just a casual tapas-and-sangria night for Greek fashion bloggers, hosted by Evi Efthymiou of Wrangler and yours truly.

Unfortunately, I was so distracted chatting, I only remembered to whip out out my camera when half the crew had already left, but all my darlings were there: Thalia, Stella, Katerina, Tasos, Stefanie, Maria Flora, Despina, Chara, Maddie, Joanna and Kristen. I had to give Elena a leave of absence due to work-related stuff, but I'm sure I can lure her into a private tutoring session over some KFC.

Well, I'm sure you didn't wait for me to break the news about Greek handmade clutch bag designer Spanaki.

Quite a while ago, Anna (the talented girl behind the Spanaki name) decided to give me a little something.

For those of you who aren't familiar with her work, Anna upcycles newspaper and magazine covers into cute little handbags, all handmade by her.

This clutch is quite special for several reasons:
It's the cover of LiFO newspaper issue of December 3rd 2009, featuring a painting by Wake...

...and on the inside of the same issue, there's a picture and a mini interview of my dear friend Larry Gus.

You know how much I love beautiful stuff being created from things we usually consider garbage.

Especially when I remember this picture I personally shot back on December of 2009.

So, for all those separate reasons, I really much appreciate Anna's gesture as much as I appreciate her work, both as a clutch maker and a graphic designer.

Just look at those beautiful postcards designed by her, that she gave me along the clutch!

1 year Notos Galleries Thessaloniki

When I received that phone call asking us to participate in the celebrating of the first year of Notos Galleries department store in Thessaloniki, I almost squealed with joy.

An one-day trip in the second biggest city of Greece, full of shopping, fashion and fun, along with three other of my favourite Greek fashion blog girls: Elena, Eleni and Zeta.

So this is what went down:

We woke up in the break of dawn to catch out flight.

Arrived in Thessaloniki and went straight for the clothes, of course.

Oh, this is our hostess, Chrissiana:

And then we took our seats for the fashion show...

...and of course I had to put our shoes on instagram while waiting.

And then, it started!

During ReMap 3, the international contemporary art programme in Metaxourgio / Keramikos district, Vamiali’s gallery with great pleasure will present the project “Reach the sky” in collaboration with Anneta Papadatou.

Reach the sky is a site-specific street art project, especially created for the open lot at 36 Leonidou street. An ad hoc construction will be built having as source of inspiration the city’s sky and point of departure the idea of the fenced space itself where the final result will be a surprise until the very last moment and will be completed little before the exhibition’s beginning. The participating well known graffiti artists, all very young with a fresh point of view, will work collaboratively and will question the limitations of their style using humor and creativity in an interactive approach within the environment itself. The final project will be flexible and in flux. Viewers will be able to see the exhibition during 24 hours.

Last night at Newsstand Eleftheroudakis for the OZON International Soirée. It was great seeing and greeting just about everyone after the summer holidays, but what's even greater is the fact that our beloved OZON magazine has gone international.

On the second issue of OZON International ‘Do you really want to hurt me’ that was on display, the OZON team approaches the phenomenon of violence and how violence becomes a part of our everyday life. The model on the cover was shot by Nikolas Ventourakis wearing a leather piece by designer Úna Burke.

These is just a selection of the turquoise jewellery I packed for my vacation. The thing with turquoise is that you can really wear it with just about anything in summer - maybe except other shades of blue.

Samos summer wine

It was a shame of me to always spend my summers in Samos and never having visited the Wine Museum of the Samos Vinicultural Cooperative.

This time my friends and I decided to fix that.

There's also this quite interesting perk that played a part in our decision:

After a brisk walk through the museum, you get to enjoy some wine tasting!

I was later even happier to discover that the Union of Vinicultural Cooperatives of Samos has issued a very cute and helpful cocktail catalogue complete with recipes, yummy pics and all, using only Samos wines (most especially the famous Samos Vin Doux, which is quite strong I tell you) using cocktail names like Vanillatini, Samos Sangria, Ginger Wine, Samos Mojito, Melon Smoothie, Samos Screwdriver and Samos Breeze. These are the Kiehl's goodies that were sent to me as a thank-you for the Creating with Kiehl's for a Cause project.

Loved the packaging, and summer is a great time to give them a hard test on my sea-and-sun tortured self.

This is also a great chance to mention Kiehl's Gives, a new charity initiative that was launched by Kiehl's last month, giving out $160.000 to charities.

The concept is that you have the power to vote for a specific greater cause - and related charity - that means the most about you.

Yellow gold

I believe most of us despised yellow gold when we were growing up. We thought of it as tacky and kitsch and probably something that only our moms and aunts would wear.

Well, in this past few years I slowly started to grow fonder of gold jewelery, to the point where they are now the majority of my collection.

Here are a few of the pieces that I've been wearing non-stop these past few months:

H&M at The Mall

Yes people, it's true. There's an H&M womenswear store open there right now. Very convenient for us living up in the north suburbs, non?

Ok people, I know this Haralas design is totally a Marni SS 2008 knock-off (if you don't remember that specific style just take a look here and here) but I simply couldn't resist when I found it for half-price off in Avenue Mall's All About Shoes shop.

I just fell in love the turquoise/black/white combo and the fact that it has a round toe line instead of the original design's super pointy style.

Still feeling kinda guilty for the original designer though... Should I? Would you?
